AutomaticImport.com
Privacy Policy
Effective 7 September 2026
AutomaticImport.com is an Ireland-based independent vehicle-import support service. This notice explains how AutomaticImport.com (referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal data through automaticimport.com, customer accounts and related vehicle-import support. We are not Revenue, NCTS, RSA, Dublin Port or another public authority.
Data we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we collect identity and contact details; account credentials and security events; consent records; vehicle, import-route and enquiry details; documents you choose to provide; case messages and progress; quote, invoice and payment-status records; and technical records such as IP-derived security identifiers, device/session information, timestamps and audit events.
Why we use it and our legal bases
- To answer enquiries, create and secure accounts, provide requested services and administer contracts.
- To verify identity and email, prevent fraud and abuse, protect customer records and maintain audit evidence in our legitimate interests and those of our users.
- To meet tax, accounting, consumer, data-protection and other legal obligations that apply to us.
- For optional communications or technologies where consent is the appropriate basis. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Google sign-in
Social sign-in is optional and remains disabled until configured. If you choose it, we request only basic identity scopes needed for authentication: a stable provider account identifier, email address and basic profile information. Google sign-in requires Google to report the email as verified. We use provider data only to link and authenticate an existing, complete AutomaticImport customer account. We do not use it for advertising, sell it, or allow it to bypass required phone, consent, verification, account-status or security checks. We store the provider identifier and do not store the provider password. You can ask us to unlink or delete this connection using the contact details above.
Sharing and processors
We disclose data only where needed to operate the website and deliver a service, for example to hosting, email, authentication, payment, professional-adviser or vehicle-import service providers selected for the relevant task, or where law requires it. Current OAuth providers are Google and Meta only when you choose their sign-in option. We do not sell personal data. Before a production vendor involving international transfers is enabled, we will document the vendor, location and applicable transfer safeguard here.
Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purpose collected, account and case administration, security, disputes, and applicable legal or financial-record obligations. Retention is assessed by record type, case status, legal limitation periods, statutory requirements and whether a legal hold applies. We will publish approved fixed schedules before production collection expands; expired data will be deleted or anonymised where lawful.
Security
Controls include access levels and record scope, hashed passwords and verification tokens, time-limited single-use links, rate limits, session revocation, protected audit records and provider-neutral MFA enforcement for privileged access. No online service is risk-free, so please contact us promptly if you suspect misuse.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing, and may withdraw consent. Email us with enough information to identify the relevant account; we may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission.
Cookies and changes
Strictly necessary cookies support sign-in, security, preferences and OAuth request validation. We will not enable non-essential analytics or marketing cookies without an appropriate choice mechanism and updated disclosure. We may update this notice when services or providers change and will show the revised effective date.
